Hot Chocolate and a Giveaway

One of those things that I never ever thought about making before was homemade hot chocolate.  It is so simple to just tear open a hot chocolate packet, dump it in a mug full of milk, and nuke it.  Buying Dutch-processed hot chocolate was one of those weak buy-everything-Penzey's-has-to-offer moment. Even though I can't stop thinking about fresh and spring-appropriate food, I have been drinking hot chocolate like my life depends on it.  This is a nummy, simple, and super quick recipe to get your hot chocolate on!  Rating 8/10.

Ingredients
1 cup milk
2 tbsp dutch-processed cocoa powder
1 tbsp turbinado sugar
A dash or two of vanilla extract

Vigorously whisk together the milk, cocoa, and sugar in a pot until all of the ingredients are thoroughly blended.
Heat over medium heat until the hot chocolate reaches desired temperature.

Serves 1, multiply to get desired amount of servings

Now, here's the good part of this post!

Lychee! I love that stuff! fantastic recipe. Thanks! I'm most looking forward to making goat cheese tarts. I'm in love with goat cheese and who doesn't love a tasty spring time tart.

I checked out the tv stand site- I would certainly go for more of the modern simple ones. I don't like too much clutter around and with a TV stand, the tv should be the hero. not the stand.

If i won the certificate, I'd put it towards a kitchen aid stand mixer. I'm DYING for one. Thanks!

I love me some hot chocolate right out of the pouch but this def. sounds worth a try! This spring I am looking forward to making chicken pasta salad with the little elbow shaped noodles - actually I already did and it was delicious. Another fav is deviled eggs, yummmmmm... On the healthier side, I LOVE making yellow rice salad - it is a cuban dish I learned awhile back: Saffron rice, a light dressing, tons of veggies and chicken.

If I win, I would buy this cute little shoe bench:

Space is limited where I live and this would be ever so helpful in my hallway!

In terms of flat-panel TV stands, I like the little shelves on this one:

Not sure it would fit my tv though.

When I think Spring dish I think of Easter and potato salad, which is probably more summery for most people, but my mom always made it for Easter with ham, and now I do to! Haven't had any all winter so it's time.

So, ok, every time there is a csn giveaway, I always say I would buy a tassimo coffee maker, but I don't see them on the website anymore! Whaaa??? Say it isn't so! I haven't picked an alternate yet. I wanted the tassimo :( If I can't get that I am not sure what I want! Well, I hate to go looking too hard and getting attached to something I most likely won't win.

oooh tv stands fascinate me. I like this one: http://www.tvstands.com/South-Shore-4259600-4259621-TH2086.html

I mainly like this one most because it is more modern-looking and not old-looking like a lot of the other ones.

After browsing the CSN site (you're lucky I'm taking a break from studying!), I think I'd get a small decorative shelf like this one: http://www.csnstores.com/OIA-29376W-IAB1220.html
or a rug, or something else decorative for my house next year.

I am most looking forward to fresh asparagus! Or just a simple salad with fresh ingredients bought at a farmers market! Can't wait for spring!

If I won I would buy something in the bakeware section...too hard to narrow down what specifically yet!

Out of the TV stands I saw I would like the ECI-2080-03-C Paris 58" corner TV stand in Oak.

I follow, and while I didn't know there was such a thing as a spring dish, I'm looking forward to eating salads with strawberries and pears!
